WHEREAS, the 1975 State Punt, Pass and Kick Competition,
co-sponsored by the Ford Motor Companies and the Departments of
Parks and Recreation, was held on October 11 , 1975, at the Iolani
School Field in Honolulu; and
WHEREAS, from the I8land of Hawaii, six competitors in
various age categories were sponsored by the Orchid Island Auto
Center; and
WdEREAS, ALFRED ZIMMERMAN, son of Mr. & Mrs. Alfred Zimmerman
of Hilo and representing the Hilo Boys Club, captured the 11 year
old division; and
WHEREAS, ALFRED ZIMMERMAN winning total comprised of a
82. 5 foot punt, a 72. 0 foot pass and a 59.0 foot kick for a grand
total of 213. 5 feet; and
WHEREAS, ALFRED ZIMMERMAN will now travel to San Diego,
California to compete in the Western Area quarter-finals; and
WHEREAS, should ALFRED ZIMMERMAN survive the competition in
the quarter-finals and semi-finals, he will have an opportunity
to participate in the National Finals on January 18, 1976, at
the Super Bowl X,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII, that it takes this means to congratulate ALFRED ZIMMERMAN
for his outstanding performance in capturing the 1975 State Punt,
Pass, and Kick Competition in the 11 year old division and
continued success in the Western Area competition.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
be and is hereby directed to transmit true copies of this resolution
to ALFRED ZIMMERMAN and Mr . & Mrs. Alfred Zimmerman.
