WHEREAS, the Filipino-Hawaiian Jaycees was officially
welcomed into the Jaycee family with their installation of new
officers at a banquet held in Hilo on November 16, 1975; and
WHEREAS, this new Jaycee organization marks another expansion
of the Jaycee movement bringing the total to fourteen (14) chapters
on this island; and
WHEREAS, one of the tenets of the Jaycee creed states that
"service to humanity is the best work of life" , means that the
Filipino-Hawaiian Jaycees have committed themselves towards
helping our island grow and prosper through their anticipated
involvement and participation in community activities; and
WHEREAS, these young men of action have willingly accepted
these challenges and responsibilities that comes with a public
service oriented organization.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that it hereby recognizes and commends the Filipino-
Hawaiian Jaycees for their initiative and enthusiasm for community
service through Jaycee-ism.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Hawaii County Council
congratulates the newly elected officers and directors of the
Filipino-Hawaiian Jaycees and that a true copy of this resolution
along with the Hawaii County Council's wishes for successes in
their every endeavor be sent to its President Ricardo D. Corpuz.
