WHEREAS, WENDELL D. SERRAO has been named the recipient
of the Distinguished Service Award for 1975 by the Hilo
Jaycees; and
WHEREAS, WENDELL D. SERRAO, 34, gained this award on
the basis of being an outstanding young man in the community
in leadership and service; and
WHEREAS, in November, 1975, he was promoted by the
State Tax Department to the post of Collector and as such,
he heads a 1G employee department; and
WHEREAS, WENDELL D. SERRAO is the financial secretary
for the Young Men's Institute, vice chairman of the Hawaii
Government Employees Association State Insurance Committee
and chairman for the Board of Auditors of the Court Mauna
Kea of the Ancient Order of Forresters; and
WHEREAS, he is also the chairman of the Hawaii District
Court finance committee, sub-chief ranger for the District
Court of Hawaii and a Court Mauna Kea board of trustees
member; and
WHEREAS, in 1972, WENDELL D. SERRAO was named the
Outstanding Public Employee by the Hilo Jaycees,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that it extend congratulations and best
wishes to WENDELL D. SERRAO on being named the recipient of
the Distinguished Service Award by the Hilo Jaycees.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of
Hawaii be and is hereby directed to transmit true copies of
this resolution to WENDELL D. SERRAO and Paul Pakele, President
of the Hilo Jaycees.
