WHEREAS, the members of the Hawaii County Council join their
colleague, Councilman William Kawahara and the Kawahara family,
on the bereavement over the loss of their father and husband
Seisaku Kawahara; and
WHEREAS, Seisaku Kawahara' s lifetime which spanned eighty-
nine years was full and rewarding as attested by the legacy he
leaves behind; and
WHnREAS, that legacy is the continuance of the name and the
tradition of the Kawahara family which is best epitomized in the
reality that he and his surviving widow, Mrs. Koma Kawahara leaves
seven sons, four daughters, twenty-one grandchildren and four great-
grandchildren to carry forth their unselfish dedication to the
betterment of their respective communities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that in memory and respect of the late Seisaku Kawahara that
this body extends its deepest sympathy and condolences to his family.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
be and is hereby directed to transmit true copies of this resolution
to his widow Mrs. Roma Kawahara, and to their children William S.
Kawahara, Peter G. Kawahara, Shoji Kawahara, Samuel S. Kawahara,
Karl K. Kawahara, Mark H. Kawahara, Lawrence S. Kawahara, Mrs. Emma M.
Kuwada, Mrs. Minnie Mana, Mrs. Tomio Ahn, and Mrs. Lily T. Risberg.
