.--,;t11;,`•!!M�� <br /> � �'. <br /> •C '. <br /> • <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII ( ;'' STATE OF HAWAIGI <br /> • '.•rk; fro::'�. <br /> ATF..... <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 139 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO `AHA PUNANA LEO <br /> TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES FOR KE KULA '0 NAWAHIOKALANI`OPU`U IKI <br /> LABORATORY PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL'S ION. <br /> WHEREAS, `Aha Punana Leo is a 501(c)(3)Native Hawaiian nonprofit organization <br /> whose mission is to revitalize and perpetuate the Hawaiian language; and <br /> WHEREAS, Ke Kula '0 Nawahiokalani`opu`u Iki Laboratory Public Charter School is a <br /> Hawaiian language school operating under `Aha Punana Leo and is designed for families, <br /> teachers, and staff who have chosen to speak Hawaiian to develop, enhance, and maintain the <br /> Hawaiian language through education in the home and school; and <br /> WHEREAS, Ke Kula '0 Nawahiokalani`opu`u Iki Laboratory Public Charter School is <br /> celebrating its 25th anniversary on May 18, 2019, and all previous graduating classes will return <br /> on this day to share their life experiences to perpetuate the Hawaiian language and culture with <br /> the current 200 graduates at a celebration called No `Ane`i Ko Kakou Ola; and <br /> WHEREAS, `Aha Punana Leo is requesting funds to cover expenses for a rental facility <br /> and meals for the charter school's No `Ane`i Ko Kakou Ola graduation celebration; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports drug- and alcohol-free events <br /> that provide a safe and healthy environment for learning; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program,project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to `Aha Punana Leo to assist with expenses for Ke Kula '0 <br /> Nawahiokalani`opu`u Iki Laboratory Public Charter School's graduation celebration. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
