cPJ��os \�--'�, <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> OF•N�..� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 147 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE BIG ISLAND <br /> DANCE COUNCIL FOR ITS DANCE EDUCATION PROJECT. <br /> WHEREAS,the Big Island Dance Council (BIDC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization <br /> established in 1975 to promote, foster, and encourage the art of dance for the people of Hawai`i <br /> Island; and <br /> WHEREAS, BIDC's Dance Education Project creates a unique partnership between the <br /> schools and the performing arts and offers enrichment activities to public and private Hawai`i <br /> Island schools while conforming to Hawai`i Content and Performance Standards; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Dance Education Project consists of a four to 10-week series of dance <br /> workshops tailored to the needs of the students and teachers of various grade levels; and <br /> WHEREAS, BIDC would like to bring a summer dance program to the community <br /> center at the Pahoa District Park in June 2019 and is requesting funds for instructor fees; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Parks and Recreation is to collaborate <br /> with community organizations and groups to improve and maintain recreational facilities and <br /> enhance programs; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, <br /> service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Big Island Dance Council for its Dance Education <br /> Project. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
