4OJN'y OF Ni 1.' <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII '4A4 STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 149 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO BASIC IMAGE INC., <br /> FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES RELATED TO "UNKO BOOGIE'S <br /> POHOIKI BAY SURFING CLASSIC". <br /> WHEREAS, Basic Image Inc., is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization whose mission is to <br /> protect,preserve, and enhance Hawai`i's natural resources and promote its sustainability efforts <br /> to residents and visitors, which focus on the enduring connection with the land and ocean; and <br /> WHEREAS, Basic Image Inc.,partnered with the Kalama `Ohana for its "Unko <br /> Boogie's Poho`iki Bay Surfing Classic",that promoted not only a surfing competition but a keiki <br /> fishing tournament, cultural art teachings, mele, hula, and makahiki games, along with a beach <br /> cleanup day,that occurred on March 16— 18, 2019 at Isaac Kepo`okalni Hale Beach Park; and <br /> WHEREAS, Basic Image Inc., is requesting funds as a reimbursement for the stage and <br /> sound rental for the "Unko Boogie's Poho`iki Bay Surfing Classic"; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support community <br /> and youth programs, such as "Unko Boogie's Poho`iki Bay Surfing Classic", that promote <br /> alcohol and drug free events that teach youth how to make safe and responsible choices; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency <br /> Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution <br /> identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity,service, <br /> equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Basic Image Inc., as a reimbursement for expenses relating <br /> to "Unko Boogie's Poho`iki Bay Surfing Classic". <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
