It is my pleasure to nominate Benson Philip Medina of Council District 3 to the Salary
Commission. Mr. Medina is employed with Veritas Holdings, a structured and corporate
financial advisory firm. He is also the current president of the Rotary Club of South Hilo,
a Board Member of the Hawai'i Island Veterans Memorial, Inc., and a participant and
supporter of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
Mr. Medina is a lifelong resident of Hawaii and a graduate of Kamehameha Schools. He
obtained a bachelor's degree in Communications from Pacific University in Oregon and
graduate studies from Portland State University.
He states that he is not a member of any political party. If confirmed, Mr. Medina will
served a vacant term to end December 31, 2020.
