RE: Amendments to Operating Budget
•
Attached please find a bill amending the operating budget
for the • fiscal year July 1, 1993 , to June 30, 1994 . The
purpose of these amendments is to cover shortfalls in the
General Fund fund balance and the State Grant-In-Aid.
The General Fund fund balance shortfall of $1, 657,418 was
reported to you in an earlier communication (Communication
No. 583) . The shortfall in the State Grant-In-Aid is
based upon the most recent estimate for Transient
Accommodations Tax collection by the Council on Revenue.
We have examined proposed reductions submitted by the
various departments and agencies and recommend expenditure
reductions as reflected in the bill. While we offer this
proposal to cover the shortfalls, we will be monitoring
revenue collections closely.
