County Council Members,
I am asking you to support Bill 36 &HB 1180. As a full time resident of Vacationland for 22
years, I would greatly appreciate any help that you can provide.
Many of us have had to relocate to the Mainland or outer islands, due to the housing shortage
on the Big Island. I am currently living on Molokai,this is not helping me heal from the
trauma and loss of my five acre farm and home. I have lived on the Big Island for thirty years.
Taught school, raised my children and now find myself far away from family and friends,
because of the lack of decent rentals.
I lost everything, I chose to pay my property taxes over homeowners insurance. My only hope
to ever own a home again is to rebuild on my Kapoho land. Please help me and others like me
go home. Together with your help, our Communities will rebuild and have a future.
