/�ZY OF **/ <br /> / \�� <br /> . i� 4. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII -� �' /�• STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 165 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO MAKU`U FARMERS <br /> ASSOCIATION FOR ITS "MALA HO`OULU `IKE" PROJECT. <br /> WHEREAS, Maku`u Farmers Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that <br /> perpetuates Hawaiian culture,values,and tradition through farming, education, and community <br /> projects; and <br /> WHEREAS,Maku`u Farmers Association is promoting sustainability and wellness <br /> within the community through its "Mala Ho`oulu `Ike"project, which includes free agricultural <br /> workshops for the public based on ancestral Hawaiian farming techniques utilizing the cycles of <br /> the moon; and <br /> WHEREAS, Maku`u Farmers Association is requesting funding assistance to cultivate <br /> garden space, create training materials, and purchase garden tools for its "Mala Ho`oulu `Ike" <br /> project; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports drug-free and alcohol-free <br /> programs, events, and activities that improve the quality of life for community members; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Maku`u Farmers Association for its "Mala Ho`oulu `Ike" <br /> project. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
