COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />J�tVfus H�!Y <br />�rE oF•N�� <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />171. 19 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAWAII <br />COUNTY ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY COUNCIL FOR ITS SENIOR FARMERS <br />MARKT NUTRITION PROGRAM. <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Economic Opportunity Council (HCEOC) is a <br />501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to reduce, mitigate, and alleviate poverty in the <br />County of Hawaii and enable low-income individuals to become self-sufficient; and <br />WHEREAS, the Senior Farmer's Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) provides low- <br />income seniors with eligible fresh produce with the goal of improving their health and nutritional <br />status and each SFMNP participant receives a book of coupons to exchange for fresh, nutritious, <br />and unprocessed locally grown fruits, vegetables, herbs, and honey from an authorized farmer, <br />farmer's market, or roadside stand; and <br />WHEREAS, the HCEOC is requesting funds to assist the SFMNP program with <br />outreach, intake services, and application processing; and <br />WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Office of Aging is to collaborate with partnering <br />agencies to provide programs that optimize the health, safety, and independence of Hawai`i's <br />older adults; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Office of Aging to <br />provide a grant to the Hawaii County Economic Opportunity Council for its Senior Farmer's <br />Market Nutrition Program. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
