The Young Driver Deterrence appropriation is a grant to conduct DUI
sobriety checkpoints to minimize the number of young people from
driving while under the influence of alcohol .

The $1, 000 appropriation entitled "Traffic Safety" is a grant to
purchase films and brochures to establish traffic safety and
education programs to aid the community' s resource development .
The "Report Automation" grant will be used to purchase a lap top
computer, software, and printer for the Traffic Enforcement Unit .
The "Portable Lighting Tower/Trailer" grant will allow for the
purchase of the necessary equipment to assist in additional DUI
sobriety checkpoints in areas which have limited lighting . This
grant is in addition to the Sobriety Checkpoint grant .
The "Traffic Accident Reconstruction" grant will enable eight
officers to attend the Traffic Accident Reconstruction Course to be
held between October 25 through November 5, 1993 on Oahu.

of the costs incurred during the Traffic Accident Reconstruction Course
