STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ' 'TE <br /> ................... <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 182 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION APPROVING A NEW SLATE OF OFFICERS FOR THE NATIONAL <br /> ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND THE WESTERN <br /> INTERSTATE REGION BOARD OF DIRECTORS. <br /> WHEREAS, Hawai`i County is a member of the Hawai`i State Association of Counties <br /> (HSAC),the National Association of Counties (NACo), and the Western Interstate Region <br /> (WIR); and <br /> WHEREAS,the HSAC Executive Committee on April 12, 2019, approved nominees <br /> Herbert M. "Tim" Richards and Ikaika Anderson for the NACo Board of Directors and nominees <br /> Mason K. Chock and Kelly T. King as the WIR Board of Directors for the respective terms <br /> beginning July 1, 2019; and <br /> WHEREAS, HSAC Bylaws state that the Executive Committee shall present their NACo <br /> Board of Directors and the WIR Board of Directors nominations to each council for approval; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, on May 8, 2019, Hawai`i County approved their Resolution No. 161-19; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,however, at the May 9, 2019 HSAC Executive Committee meeting, it was <br /> reported that not all County Councils approved the proposed nominations, requiring a new slate <br /> of officers to be nominated by the committee; now therefore <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Ikaika Anderson and KipuKai Kuali'i are approved to serve on the NACo Board of Directors for <br /> the term beginning July 1, 2019. <br />
