c,..•U'ros\,•::. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 181 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE PAHOA <br /> SCHOOLS SUPPORT FOUNDATION FOR KEONEPOKO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL'S <br /> JUNIOR POLICE OFFICERS PROGRAM AWARD CELEBRATION. <br /> WHEREAS, The Pahoa Schools Support Foundation is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit <br /> organization whose mission is to supplement and fund activities to promote educational <br /> opportunities at Pahoa High and Intermediate School, Pahoa Elementary School and Keonepoko <br /> Elementary School; and <br /> WHEREAS, Keonepoko Elementary School assists students with appropriate <br /> interpersonal skill development and promotes a safe school environment through the Junior <br /> Police Officers Program; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Junior Police Officers Program collaborates with a Hawai`i County <br /> Community Police Officer to inspire students to become positive,productive, and law-abiding <br /> individuals; and <br /> WHEREAS, Keonepoko Elementary School hosted an award celebration to honor the <br /> Junior Police Officers of the 2018-2019 school year, which was held on May 8, 2019; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports drug-free and alcohol-free <br /> events that promote the health, safety, and welfare of Hawai`i residents; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to The Pahoa Schools Support Foundation for reimbursement <br /> of expenses incurred for Keonepoko Elementary School's Junior Police Officers Program for <br /> their 2018-2019 award celebration. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates ro riates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
