SUBJECT: Report of attendance at Ho`olako Puna
In accordance with HRS §92.2.5(e), I report my attendance along with that of Council Members
Sue Lee Loy, Ashely Kierkiewicz, and Matt Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder at the Ho`olako Puna cooler
donation event, held at the Hawaii Island Food Basket on April 29, 2019.
Ho`olako Puna was a formal presentation of a total of 1,320 coolers from various generous
donors from Canada to Hawai`i for the victims of the lava devastation. 1,000 coolers
were donated to the Hawai`i Island Food Basket and 320 coolers were donated to the students
and families of Kua 0 Ka La Public Charter School. During the presentation, Council Members
each took a moment to mahalo the generous donors whose generosity made this possible.
HRS §92.2.5(e) states that two or more members of a board, but less than a quorum, may attend
an informational meeting or presentation on matters relating to office board duties, including a
community meeting,provided that the meeting or presentation is not specifically and exclusively
organized for or directed toward members of the board, and that the board members shall report
their attendance and the matters presented and discussed that related to official board business.
