RESOLUTION NO. 192 1.9
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PURCHASE A TRAFFIC DATA COLLECTOR
WITH SOLAR CAPABILITIES FOR THE HAWAII POLICE DEPARTMENT, NORTH
AND SOUTH KOHALA STATIONS.
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Police Department continually collects and analyzes traffic
data to support grant funding and the Community Policing programs; and
WHEREAS, North and South Kohala Police stations do not have immediate access to a
Traffic Data Collector with solar capabilities and must wait for one to be made available from
other stations; and
WHEREAS, the equipment is necessary for the North and South Kohala Police stations
to collect valuable traffic and speed data within Council District 9 in order to improve and/or
enhance the safety of our island communities; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY. OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Hawaii Police
Department to purchase a Traffic Data Collector with solar capabilities for North and South
Kohala.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Chief of Police and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
