SUBJECT: Proposed Amendment to Bill No. 74; an Ordinance Amending Chapter 20, Article
6, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as Amended), Relating to
Polystyrene Foam Food Container and Food Service Ware Reduction.
Please see below a proposed amendment to Bill No. 74 amending the definition of
"Recyclables". The proposed amendment is shown in Ramseyer format with respect to the
contents of Bill 74; material to be deleted is bracketed and stricken and material to be added is
underscored.
SECTION 2 of Bill No. 74 that amends the definition for "Recyclables" is amended to
read as follows:
""Recyclables" means material that has reached the end of its current use and [is] maybe
processed into material utilized in the production of new products."
Due to the limited scope of these amendments, a draft copy of the draft 2 of this bill that would
result if these proposed amendments are adopted is not attached.
