Home My WebLink AboutRES 200 Draft 01 2018-2020COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 200 1.9 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF $600 TO THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, the Hawaii Emergency Physicians Associated, Inc. is donating $600 to the Hawaii Fire Department; and WHEREAS, these funds will be used in support of EMS Week and the Hawaii Fire Department EMS Team; and WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by Resolution approved by the Council; and WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Department of Finance has requested that cash donations of any amount be recorded and accepted through the formal Resolution process; and WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of Hawaii accepts this donation. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to Hawaii Emergency Physicians Associated, Inc., Attn: Dr. Judy FitzGerald, DO, P.O. Box 1266, Kailua, HI 96734, and that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Hawaii Fire Department, the Department of Finance and the Office of the Mayor to acknowledge this generous donation.
