No. 301/Bill No. 74 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 3:05 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Agriculture, Water, Energy, and Environmental Management (AWEEM), to <br /> which was referred Bill No. 74, reports as follows: <br /> Bill 74, transmitted by Council Member Richards via Communication No. 301, dated May 15, <br /> 2019 is an Ordinance to amend Chapter 20, Article 6, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 Edition <br /> (2016 Edition, as amended), relating to polystyrene foam food container and food service ware <br /> reduction. Motion to Amend Bill 74 with the contents of Cominunication 301.3 was passed. <br /> Discussion had noting that the bill does not change the implementation date of July 1, 2019 nor <br /> does it relax the polystyrene ban. Bill 74 is an amendment to clarify various definitions within <br /> the code so that the food industry can comply with the law.
