RESOLUTION NO. 202 19
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO
ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE HAWAII TOURISM
AUTHORITY PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A GRANT TO THE
HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Department of Hawai'i Tourism Authority, a state
organization, is providing a grant to be used for the expansion of the County's
Rescue Watercraft program; and
WHEREAS, the County's Rescue Watercraft program is a crucial part of the
Hawai'i Fire Department's Ocean Safety program; and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used to purchase equipment, motor vehicle(s),
personnel training and for overtime costs incurred during training; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Hawai'i Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, this Council's
consent is required to enter into this agreement; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, in
accordance with section 46-7, Hawai'i Revised Statutes, that the Mayor of the County
of Hawai'i is authorized to execute, on behalf of the County, the agreement and any
related documents with the Hawai'i Tourism Authority to receive funds and indicated
above.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii
shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, the Finance
Department and the Hawaii Fire Department.
