Aloha Commissioners,
I am Hanalei Fergerstrom, spokeserson for Na Kupuna Moku 0 Keawe. I am here to help
see these bills 83 and 84 are denied or deferred until such time as a fully accredited SHPD
survey is completed and verified with residents from the area with historic knowledge of the
properties involved.
We would like to show our support the work and testimony of Cory Harden and others
and would suggest that an Environmental Assessment also be conducted for this project and its
surrounding.
We also support the use of ground penetrating radar for the potential of unmarked or
no longer marked gravesites that may be present as some have testified.
Punitive damages should also be considered as the Olsen Trust is well aware of the laws
concerning developments, permitting, and Historic Preservation. More importantly their
blatant disregard for human burials/remains is something that needs to be put in check as this
type of bad behavior seems to travel with this estate.
