RESOLUTION NO. 207 19
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION
OF A TANKER APPARATUS FROM THE DANIEL R. SAYRE
MEMORIAL FOUNDATION
WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is donating a four-
wheel drive 1,250 -gallon firefighting tanker apparatus to the Hawaii Fire
Department; and
WHEREAS, this equipment will be assigned to the Waimea and South Kohala
areas; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter
provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of
money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real
estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code
states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall
within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted
by resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this
donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`1 that in
accordance with Article X111, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of
the County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Laura Mallery-Sayre, Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation,
P. O. Box 1285, Kailua-Kona, HI 96745.
