It is my pleasure to nominate Reiko Ford, a resident of Kailua-Kona, to the County Tax
Board of Review. �-
Ms. Ford is retired after a thirty year career as an accountant. She holds a home
economics degree from Tokyo Public College.
While living in the State of Ohio, Ms. Ford served on the Miami Valley Regional
Planning Commission. She would also bring the experience of having previously served
a complete term on the County Tax Board of Review.
Ms. Ford has resided in Hawai'i for 19 years. She indicates that she is not affiliated with
any political party. If confirmed, she will fill a vacant seat with a term expiring December
31, 2023.
Due to the needs of the Board, I respectfully request that this item be waived at
Committee and placed on the full Council agenda for July 24, 2019. Your review and
favorable confirmation is requested.

RE: Comm. No. 355 : Nomination of Reiko Ford to the Hawai`i County Tax Board of
Review.
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
