Re: Operating Budget
The County of Hawaii Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) wishes to
fund a portion of the Ouli Ekahi Project's roof repairs, which has sustained damage due to high
winds and rain.
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget to increase the current fiscal
year's Ouli Ekahi Housing Fund, operating reserve from previous year's revenues by $225,000,
and to appropriate these funds into the Ouli Ekahi Project Expenditure account.

A REQUEST:
We request to amend Ordinance 19-73, the 2019-2420 Operating Budget to increase the Ouli Ekahi Housing
Project by $225,000 as follows,
The Office of Housing and Community Development is requesting the appropriation of$225,000 to the Oull
Ekahi Housing Project (Account Number 158.3609;55) using its fund balance and to cover the expenditure
account number 158.461.5468.02.110
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION(USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The increase in appropriation using the Ouli Ekahi Fund Balance is to pay a portion of the roof repairs, The
roof at Ouli Ekahi Housing Project is in dire need of repairs and has suffered damage due to high winds and
rain. The Office of Housing and Community Development will repair all of the roofing to avoid continuously
doing band aid fixes. Funding for the entire roofing repair will come from a combination of CIP monies,
revolving monies, and project monies.
