RESOLUTION NO. 225 ' 19
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR EQUIPMENT FOR THE HAWAII FIRE
DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Fire Department provides residents and visitors of Hawai`i
County with mitigation of a vast array of hazardous emergency incidents; and
WHEREAS, there is an ever-growing demand for fire and emergency services due to the
diversity of emergency incidents across Hawai`i Island; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Fire Department provides fire protection and suppression, land-
and sea-search and rescue, pre-hospital emergency medical services, ocean safety, fire
prevention and public education for the County of Hawai`i; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Fire Department requests funds for essential fire station
equipment to improve departmental readiness in its emergency and hazard responses; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Hawai`i Fire
Department for fire station equipment for the Hawai`i Fire Department.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Fire Chief and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is hereby
authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
