RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER
FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-
YEAR AGREEMENT FOR PERSONAL COMPUTERS FOR THE
DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease
or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year
or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, a high volume of personal computers (PCs) currently in use by County
employees, utilize an operating system that will no longer be supported by Microsoft
Corporation after January 14, 2020; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into a multi-year agreement to
purchase PCs in order to replace the equipment indicated above; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into multi-year agreement for
the purchase of desktop computers, to allow the Department of
Information Technology to replace computers with operating systems that
will no longer be supported by the manufacturer after January 14, 2020.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the
anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall
transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, Department of Information
Technology, and the Finance Department.
