Re: Resolution Accepting Donation
Enclosed is a resolution to enter into an agreement with the State of Hawaii, Surplus Property
Office, 729 Kakoi Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96819 for the acceptance of a donation of a 2012
F550 ENC Aero Elite Bus (Hydrogen Bus)to the County of Hawai`i's Mass Transit Agency.
The bus has an original cost value of$105,424.00 and will be as part of the Mass Transit
Agency's transportation fleet. The County of Hawaii will be obligated to pay a$500 service
and handling fee to the State of Hawaii, Surplus Property Office.
This Resolution is for a second bus being donated to the Mass Transit Agency by the State of
Hawaii, Surplus Property Office.
The Mass Transit Agency requests that this resolution be waived from the Finance Committee,
and be placed on the August 7, 2019 Council Agenda in order to expedite this transaction.

A. REQUEST:
The County of Hawaii Mass Transit Agency requests a Resolution to enter into an Agreement with the State
of Hawaii - Surplus Property Office (State Surplus) to accept the Donation of a 2012 F550 ENC Aero Elite
Bus (Hydrogen Bus) with a milege of 1,415. The County of Hawai'i will pay a service and handling fee of
$500.00 to the State Surplus office. We also request to waive Finance Committee due to the urgency of
obtaining the Bus.

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
Mei Phillips from the State of Hawai'i Surplus Property Office obtained the Bus on behalf of the County of
Hawaii. The Hydrogen Bus has an original cost value of$105,424.00 with a total of 1,415 mileage. The
Hydrogen Bus shall be used by the Mass Transit Agency as part of their Transportation Fleet.

Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
