Dear Members of the Hawaii County Council,
I would remind you that you are serving ALL the people of Hawaii Island, not just a select few. You
have a duty to apply the law equally to ALL people, and you may NOT favor a particular group
because of their religious views. Yet another"moratorium" on this already-vetted-and-legally-
approved project will be the project's death knell, as the project will go to the Canary Islands
instead. Hawaiians are in no way inhibited from pursuing their legal cultural activities on Mauna
Kea...killing this project secures no further"rights"for them but will violate the expectations of the
vast majority of the people of Hawaii Islands to a secure and prosperous economic future, as well as
to equal treatment under the law as guaranteed by the United States Constitution. If this project
fails Hawaii County becomes the SHAME of the nation.
