Dear Chair Chung, Vice Chair Eoff, and Council Members,
I am a local born Hawaii citizen and have spent the past 12 years supporting our keiki through
volunteering at multiple STEM related events to help promote awareness of STEM and to help instill
core values to enable the keiki in their future endeavors. The Thirty Meter Telescope and
representatives have provided their support in helping our keiki succeed in our education system.
The Thirty Meter Telescope has gone through all the legal hurdles set forth by the State, County, and
protestors in the past 10+years. After months of contested case hearings and going through the
Supreme Court, it was still ruled in favor of the construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope. While I
respect the people's rights to free speech, I also expect the rule of law to be enforced. Why is it
that the protestors are allowed to occupy the road and block public traffic without any
consequences?? People get tickets forjay-walkingwhen there are no cars insight. No one should be
above the law. Otherwise, what is the law for?
I fully support proceeding with the construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope and I am strongly
opposed to any moratorium on the Thirty Meter Telescope's construction.
