I was born and raised in Hilo, graduated from Waiakea High School and UH Manoa's College of Engineering. Currently, I am an Avionics Engineer for the Hawaii Space Flight Lab. I am a product of various STEM Education initiatives, and I have tirelessly given back to the STEM and Robotics programs within our community for over 12 years. I have started programs with the Society of Women Engineers-Hawaii Collegiate Chapter to bring STEM Education to middle school students. I have been following the Thirty Meter Telescope project since 2007 while I was still in high school, and I am a strong supporter. I believe that we as a county NEED TMT, in order to provide economic diversity, and ecological sustainability. Tourism is not sustainable both economically and ecologically. We need a way to promote STEM. It is the path to our global success. If we fail to support STEM, we will be left behind. The county needs to uphold the law, allow TMT to be built AND push UH to uphold their end of the deal and protect our island home. I SUPPORT TMT and STRONGLY OPPOSE ANY MORATORIUM ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF TMT. Mahalo nui loa, Amber Imai-Hong i i. Comm. No Ref. To: P hU Ref. Date J iJ L 2 3 2 019
