Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Resolution No. 215-19,reports as follows:
Resolution No. 215-19 transmitted by Finance Director Deanna Sako, via Communication No. 357 dated
July 5, 2019, authorizes the Office of the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State of Hawaii
Surplus Property Office for the acceptance of a donation of a hydrogen bus.
This resolution accepts a 2012 F550 Aero Elite bus with an original cost value of$105,424 for addition
to the Mass Transit Agency's transportation fleet.
Council Member Matt Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder expressed his excitement for the donation and moving
forward in the direction of hydrogen buses.
Mass Transit Administrator Brenda Carreira stated that this bus is one of two the County will be
receiving, and is looking forward to the completion of training so these buses can be utilized on the road.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 215-19, and
recommends its adoption.
