Bill 89: AMENDS ORDINANCE NO. 19-73, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING
BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
ENDING JUNE 30 2020
Increases revenues in the Operating Reserve from Previous Year—Ouli Ekahi
Housing Fund account($225,000); and appropriates the same to the Ouli Ekahi
Project Expenditure account. Funds would be used for roof repairs at Ouli Ekahi
Housing Project.

Y our Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No 89, reports as follows
Bill No. 89, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna Salm, via Communication No. 358 dated
July 5, 2019, amends Ordinance No. 19-73, as amended, the Operating Budget for the County of
Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2020.
The bill increases revenues in the Operating Reserve from Previous Year — Ouli Ekahi Housing Fund
account ($225,000); and appropriates the same to the Ouli Fkabi Project Expenditure account. Funds
would be used for roof repairs at Ouli Ekabi Housing Project.
Housing Administrator Neil Gyotoku stated that the funds are needed to order to complete the
replacement of the roof at Ouli Ekahi Housing. The roof is over 30 years old and have been repaired
many times due to H ind damage, which is covered by insurance, and is now in need to be replaced.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 89, and recommends its
passage on first reading
