Subject: Proposal for moratorium on TMT construction
Dear Council,
In my letter to Harry Kim yesterday I made my point of view on this very clear. Every level of government in
Hawaii is showing a jaw-dropping lack of leadership at this time.
Pushing out the construction to a later date does NOT ALLOW FOR THE RESOLUTION OF ANY
ISSUES. You knew that this was coming down the pipe months ago and have not adopted a functional plan to
deal with the enforcement of the rule of law in our County. The delay will only aggravate the disruption this
has caused to the observatory operations. Do you want this to turn into a full-on insurrection? Had you dealt
with this last week we possibly wouldn't have 2000+people on the saddle on the moment. Every day you delay
allows more time for the protester movement to gather momentum.
YOUR INCOMPETENCE IS DRAWING ATTENTION TO ITSELF AT A NATIONAL LEVEL. Do you
want to stir up our "illustrious" executive branch's attention? They're not likely to care, but I guarantee you that
the results will be to nobody's liking, including myself.
