Re: Resolution Accepting Donation
Enclosed is a resolution accepting the donation of funds of approximately$7,000 from
the Center for Technology (CFT), 815-A Brazos Street, Suite#703, Austin, TX 78701.
The funding will be used towards travel and other expenses to attend the CIO Roundtable
& Security Summits events on September 14-18, 2019 and December 3-6, 2019.

attendance at the following CIO Rountable & Security Summits from the Center for Technology:
> September 14-18, 2019; Naples, FL (estimated value = $3.5K)
> December 3-6, 2019; Sea Island, GA (estimated value = $3.5K)

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
Center for Technology (CFT) is a national association that brings together private sector and academic
leaders to create public policy initiatives that effectively address the technology and innovation needs of the
industry, while promoting a growth-oriented business environment for technology firms nationally.
CFT leads CIO panel discussions & forums that feature candid conversations with technology thought
leaders.
The County of Hawaii has been invited to participate on panels and in discussions with State and municiple
IT leaders nationwide. The former Hawaii State CIO, Todd Nacapuy, serves as an executive advisor, and
the current Hawaii State CIO, Doug Murdoch, is also a participant and panelist. Attendance and participation
in this event by Hawaii State Government employees, was formerly vetted and approved by the Board of
Ethics at the State level.
