Ige signed into law Act 136, which requires that all <br /> elections statewide are to be conducted by mail beginning with the 2020 primary election. Act 136 <br /> also requires the State of Hawaii, Department of Budget and Finance,to appropriate grant funds <br /> to the counties for startup and transition costs to implement mail-in voting statewide. <br /> Attached is a resolution authorizing the Office of the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the <br /> State of Hawaii, Department of Budget and Finance, for the acceptance of this grant. <br /> N <br /> Also attached is a corresponding bill to amend the Operating Budget by appropriating the State <br /> grant in the amount of$126,688. <br /> I would like to request that the attached resolution and bill be waived from the Committee on <br /> Finance and placed on the next available Council agenda. <br /> JWde <br /> Att. <br /> Comm.
