JMtY oc htw <br /> . <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 267 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE COOPER <br /> CENTER COUNCIL TO ASSIST WITH ITS VOLCANO EMERGENCY REPONSE <br /> PLAN THROUGH THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN EMERGENCY OPERATIONS <br /> CENTER. <br /> WHEREAS, the Cooper Center Council (CCC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization <br /> whose mission is to bring the community of Volcano, Hawai`i and surrounding area into a <br /> cohesive group through shared activities and projects; and <br /> WHEREAS, the CCC established the Volcano Emergency Response Plan(VERP) to <br /> prepare for the initial impact of a potential disaster by managing the community's physical and <br /> human resources for residents until other assistance arrives; and <br /> WHEREAS, the CCC is requesting funds for pop-up tents, medical cots, related <br /> equipment, extension cords, power strips, lights, and materials and supplies for setting up an <br /> Emergency Operations Center at the Cooper Center, which is part of the VERP; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Civil Defense Agency supports public and private agencies that provide <br /> basic and coordinated guidance in formulation and maintenance of their emergency operations <br /> plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Civil Defense <br /> Agency to provide a grant to the Cooper Center Council for its Emergency Operations Center in <br /> preparing for disasters. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
