Funds provided by private sources will be used to establish a temporary road <br /> for residents and farmers from Malama Ki to access lava locked homes and farms. <br /> Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the County of Hawaii to provide $28,000 to Malama `O <br /> Puna, pursuant to Hawaii County Code (2016 Edition as amended) Chapter 2, Article 25, <br /> Section 2-139(a)(3)(A). <br /> Due to the urgent need to contract services,the Department of Public Works and the <br /> Department of Research and Development requests that a breach be authorized to submit this <br /> resolution after the August 14, 2019 submission deadline, and to waive it from the Finance <br /> Committee in order to be placed on the September 4, 2019 Council agenda. The Departments <br /> also wish to request that the Council waive their five-day hold-for-reconsideration period.
