SUBJECT: Ice House
The "Ice House" is not in our current renovation plan for
Liliuokalani Gardens because it did not (does not) belong to
the County of Hawaii. Our current plan calls for landscaping
to block the view of the Ice House.
However, should we have the good fortune to receive the
facility, we would remove it and expand the Park to keep the
space open for picnics and other passive activities, However,
the cold storage function would have to remain until a business
could develop the service more fully to support the fishermen.
Suisan and Alii Ice also provide this service. However, at
this time we have not been given the "go ahead" to plan for use
of the facility.
