Re: Capital Budget
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Capital Budget to include a
project for grading, paving, draining, retaining walls, guardrails, grouting
rubble paving (GRP), and utility relocation in the vicinity of Waiaha Stream.
The estimated cost is $1,500,000. The federal share is $1,200,000 and County
share is $300,000. The County share has already been appropriated.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Department of
Public Works.

A. REQUEST:
Amendment to Ordinance Bill 99-71 to add Mamalahoa Highway Improvements,
Vicinity of Waiaha Stream. Work to include grading, paving, drainage,
retaining walls, guardrails, grouted rubble paving (GRP), and utility
relocation. The estimated cost for construction is $1,500,000.00. The
Federal share is $1,200,000.00 and the County share is $300,000.00.
Request is for Federal only. County is funded in 110-399-5397.83 and
110-399-5397.90.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAT SHEETS AS NEEDED):
On May 18, 1999, the State DOT had approved the programming for
Construction - Advertise for Receipt of Bi d;> of Federal-Aid Project No.
STP-0180(008), Mamalahoa Highway Improvements, Vicinity of Waiaha
Stream.
Attached are copies of related HDOT and FHWA documents supporting the
project.
