RESOLUTION NO. 284 19
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PURCHASE EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES FOR
THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S COMMUNITY POLICING PROGRAMS.
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai`i Police Department, Community Policing Unit, is
committed to working cooperatively with the community to enforce laws, preserve peace, and
provide a safe environment; and
WHEREAS, the Community Police Officers accomplish this through community
mobilization, crime prevention efforts, and problem solving (i.e.,Neighborhood Watch, Citizen
Patrol, etc.); and
WHEREAS, the Police Department requests funds to purchase essential equipment and
supplies for its Community Policing programs; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Police Department
to purchase equipment and supplies for its Community Policing programs.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

CREDITED TO:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Chief of Police and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
