Dear Chair Chung and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Guy Schutte of Council District 9 to the Police
Commission.
Mr. Schutte was born and raised on the Big Island and is a graduate of Honokaa High
School. He has been a self-employed rancher and truck driver since 2009.
Mr. Schutte contributes his time to numerous community organizations and causes,
which include security for the Parker Ranch Annual Christmas Tree Lightings and 4th of
Julys. He previously served on the Police Commission and served as chairman from
2014 through 2016.
Mr. Schutte states his is not affiliated with any political part. If confirmed, he will fill a
vacant term ending December 21, 2019. He will qualify to reapply for a full five-year
term.
