RESOLUTION NO. 302 19
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A
LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR
FOR A MULTI-YEAR AGREEMENT WITH SPECTRUM (CHARTER
COMMUNICATIONS)
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract,
lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a
later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into a multi-year
agreement for five (5) years, with Spectrum (Charter Communications); and
WHEREAS, the agreement will allow the County to increase internet
connections at Civil Defense and West Hawaii Civic Center from 100 mbps
(megabytes per second) to one (1) gbps (gigabytes per second); and
WHEREAS, these increases in bandwidth will help to support County
operations to provide essential public services; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year
agreement for the services as indicated above, for the Department
of Information Technology.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the
anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the
agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of
Hawaii shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor,
Department of Information Technology, and the Finance Department.
