Re: Amend Ord 19-22
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance to amend Ordinance 19-22 which appropriated contributions
from private sources to the County's 2018 Lava Disaster Relief account. The purpose of this
measure is to amend Exhibit A to place the"Safety efforts in Leilani Estates"project under the
Office of the Prosecuting Attorney as they will be facilitating the program(s). There are no
changes to the appropriation or specified projects.
Time is of the essence regarding this.matter. We therefore ask that a breach be authorized to
submit this bill after the August 29, 2019 submission deadline, and to waive it from the Finance
Committee in order to be placed on the September 18, 2019 Council agenda. If you have any
questions,please do not hesitate to call me at 961-8092.

RE: Bill No. 99 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.
19-22, WHICH APPROPRIATED CONTRIBUTIONS FROM PRIVATE SOURCES
TO THE COUNTY'S 2018 LAVA DISASTER RELIEF ACCOUNT,
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
