RESOLUTION NO. 404
RESOLUTION ABANDONING KT= STREET IN `d°TAIAKEA, SOUTH HILO,
COUNTY AND STATE OF HAWAII .
WHEREAS, Kumu Street, in Waiakea, South Hilo, County and
State of Hawaii is located within the Kaiko'o Project site area;
and
WHEREAS, the new street plans for the Kaiko'o Redevelopment
makes the existing Kumu Street obsolete and of no value as a
public street; and
WIEREAS, the Hawaii Redevelopment Agency, the agency of the
County of Hawaii created to redevelop the Kaiko'o Project area
recommends that Kumu Street be closed and new road patterns be
i4)'1- created; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Engineer of the County of Hawaii has
reviewed the abandonment request of the Hawaii Redevelopment
Agency and finds that such action will not be against the public
interest and, therefore, recommends that Kumu Street be abandoned,
except that a perpetual 30-foot wide sewer easement near the
Waiolama Canal be retained,
NW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
in and for the County of Hawaii that Kumu Street, except a 30-foot
wide sewer easement in Waiakea, South Hilo, County and State of
Hawaii, a more particular description thereof and map being
attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference, be and it
is hereby declared abandoned for road purposes.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be authorized
and directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Hawaii
Redevelopment Agency.
