RESOLUTION NO. 305 19
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO COMMUNITY
ENTERPRISES FOR EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH CONDUCTING ITS
COMMUNITY FORUMN IN WEST HAWAII.
WHEREAS, Community Enterprises is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was
created in 2005 to provide informational community forum for the residents of West Hawai`i;
and
WHEREAS, the community forums provide nonpartisan, educational opportunities to
learn about current issues and public policies affecting Hawai`i Island; and
WHEREAS, Community Enterprises is requesting funds for supplies, professional
services for web support and video production, other related expenses necessary to conduct its
community forums in West Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports this type of
community outreach that facilitates partnerships to promote economic growth and to address the
needs and concerns of the community; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of
Research and Development to provide a grant to Community Enterprises for various expenses
associated with conducting its community forums in West Hawai`i.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
