RESOLUTION NO. 306 19
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO COMMUNITY
ENTERPRISES FOR ITS MONTHLY COMMUNITY FORUMS IN WEST HAWAII.
WHEREAS, Community Enterprises is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was
created in 2005 to provide monthly, nonpartisan community meetings to address subjects of
interest and concern to the West Hawai`i community; and
WHEREAS, Community Enterprises holds monthly educational community forums in
West Hawai`i to learn, discuss, and understand topics that are important to the community; and
WHEREAS, Community Enterprises is requesting funds to pay for refreshments,
advertisements, and other miscellaneous expenses associated with conducting its monthly
community forums in West Hawai`i; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development is supportive of initiatives,
such as these community forums, that may help to promote and facilitate sustainable economic
development while honoring the needs, priorities, and values of the community; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of
Research and Development to provide a grant to Community Enterprises to assist with expenses
associated with its monthly community forums in West Hawai`i.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
