RESOLUTION NO. 309 19
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST THE OFFICE OF THE PROSECUTING
ATTORNEY WITH EXPENSES RELATING TO A SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION
SUMMIT FOR YOUTH.
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney continually strives to improve the
criminal justice system by collaborating with other governmental and private agencies to provide
workshops and trainings for our island community; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is hosting a two-day substance abuse
prevention summit for students in September 2019, wherein students will review data and
collaboratively develop strategic plans to reduce and/or prevent youth substance abuse in our
schools and communities; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is requesting funds to offset
expenses incurred to host the summit, including meals for participating students; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney to assist with a two-day substance abuse prevention summit for youth.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
