RESOLUTION NO. 31.8 S�
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO REIMBURSE THE OFFICE OF THE
PROSECUTING ATTORNEY FOR EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH EDUCATIONAL
SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION WORKSHOPS HELD IN SEPTEMBER 2019.
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is coordinating systems of substance
abuse prevention in Hawai`i County by providing youth workshops that were held on September
9-10, 2019 in East Hawai`i and on September 12-13, 2019 in West Hawai`i; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney has requested financial assistance to
pay for meals for students attending Educational Substance Abuse Prevention Workshops; and
WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is to build the
capacity to enhance juvenile substance abuse prevention systems and educational opportunities
to improve the quality of life; and
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney for reimbursement of expenses for its Educational Substance Abuse
Prevention Workshops in September, 2019.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
