RESOLUTION NO. 321 19
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR OVERTIME WAGES
FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES PERSONNEL WORKING THE
26th ANNUAL KWXX HO`OLAULE`A.
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai`i, in conjunction with KWXX FM and other entities,
continues its ongoing efforts to educate and build awareness of the culture and history of Hawai`i
Island through the 26th Annual KWXX Ho`olaule`a, a drug-free, alcohol-free, family-friendly,
live-music block party that is free and open to the public; and
WHEREAS, the 26th Annual KWXX Ho`olaule`a was held in Hilo on September 28,
2019, and drew thousands of revelers from around Hawai`i Island; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Fire Department has requested funds to assist with overtime
expenses for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel who needed to be on hand for public
safety; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Hawai`i Fire
Department to provide funding for overtime wages for EMS personnel working the 26th Annual
KWXX Ho`olaule`a.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Fire Chief and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is hereby
authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
